Last week my daughter brought home a few strips of bark from a fallen tree next to her school. She had a vision of painting the wood and turning them into dolls. After an hour of working in her room, she came out with a beautiful doll, complete with glued on yarn for hair.
Over the next few days she made an wonderful collection. Such a nice way to repurpose the bark from the fallen tree.
However, if you’re not already aware, it is harmful for a tree to strip off its bark. So if you want to make something like this, find any fallen sticks, branches, or other scraps of wood. Repurposing is good!
If you’d like to try making some wood dolls of some sort, she used regular white glue to attach the yarn, and non-toxic Acrylic paints by A2 Chroma.
